Dr Kane Holborn (photographed left) invites you to Quills Anonymous in Alton, Hampshire. What is Quills Anonymous? Quills Anonymous is a monthly creative writing collective started during Dr Holborn’s doctoral studies at the University of Winchester as a space for creative writers to socialise and develop their craft. Now, it continues as an informal gathering of like-minded people who have a shared passion for creative writing based at the poet’s house and on Zoom. Meetings are usually between 30 minutes and up to an hour and a half roughly for those attending in person.

WRITING PROMPTS

Sunday 4th February @ 8pm

1. Introductions. Who are you and what is your creative writing journey to date?
​
​
2. Make a list of words which you commonly use in your poetry. Try to write something, a poem, prose, etc whatever comes naturally without using those words. No pressure if it’s just one sentence. This something you can build on each month.

4. Our writing can be inspired from a variety of sources. In our final creative writing exercise, you are invited to respond to a piece of visual art from an unknown creator whose identity will be shared later.
